Nature School
Meet The Team
Ms. Nicole, founder and teacher of Tiny Trailblazers, was born and raised in San Diego and began working with children at the age of 16. She quickly built a reputation among local families as a trusted nanny and also started teaching horseback riding lessons on weekends. Her passion for working with children and helping others led her to pursue a career in occupational therapy, specializing in early intervention for children of all abilities and diagnoses.
After becoming a mother to three children, Nicole continued her education by taking early childhood education courses and delving into research on the benefits of outdoor play for children’s development and well-being. She currently works part-time with a homeschool pod for children aged 4–7.
Tiny Trailblazers is the result of Nicole’s unique blend of experience in child development, nature-based education, and therapeutic support. Nicole is dedicated to creating engaging and enriching outdoor learning experiences for young children through Tiny Trailblazers Nature School.
Hi, I’m Julie! I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and then went on to complete my Early Childhood Education coursework. For the past three years, I’ve worked professionally with young children in both daycare and preschool settings, gaining experience across a variety of educational approaches. Before that, I spent several years nannying while in college and helping care for my many nieces and nephews.
My love of learning and exploration has taken me around the world. I’ve traveled extensively, immersing myself in different cultures and natural environments—from practicing yoga in Thailand (where I earned my yoga instructor certification) to hiking through the landscapes of Italy, Switzerland, and Vietnam. Along the way, I’ve loved learning about local plants, animals, and traditions, and bringing that knowledge into how I connect children with the world around them.
I’m passionate about nurturing curiosity, creativity, and confidence in young children. I believe that nature offers endless opportunities for growth and wonder, and I’m excited to share that sense of adventure with the little ones at Tiny Trailblazers Nature School.
